Co-Founder of Carlyle

David M. Rubenstein is the Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of The Carlyle Group and is regarded as one of the most influential figures in global finance. He is also the CEO and principal owner of the Major League Baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles.
‍
Before founding Carlyle in 1987, Rubenstein worked as an attorney in Washington, D.C., and New York, and from 1977 to 1981 he served as Deputy Domestic Policy Advisor to the President of the United States - a role in which he played a key part in shaping economic and social policy strategies.

Rubenstein is deeply engaged in public and cultural life: he serves as Chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations, the National Gallery of Art, the Economic Club of Washington, and the University of Chicago. In addition, he holds prominent positions with leading institutions such as the World Economic Forum, Harvard Business School, Tsinghua University, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Moderna, Inc.

He is a graduate of Duke University (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and the University of Chicago Law School, where he served as an editor of the Law Review.

Dr. Andrea Vathje is Head of the Private Markets Institute at Privatize.
‍
Previously, she was a senior expert for investment products at Scope Fund Analysis, where she was responsible for Private Markets fund ratings. Before that, Andrea headed up the advisory business for structured products in Germany, Luxembourg, and Austria as Executive Director at Vontobel Bank. Prior to that, she was a Division Director at Macquarie Bank, co-heading the structured products business.

She started her career in finance at Sal. Oppenheim, where she was Managing Director and Deputy Head of equity and Derivatives Trading.
‍
Andrea holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, where she also graduated in Economics.
